This renovation began with a clear diagnosis: the entrance was labyrinthine, and the leisure area too small for what the home could be. In other words, there was potential, but it had not been fulfilled.
The key decision was as immediate as it was logical: to open the kitchen to the living room. A simple gesture that proved transformative—by uniting the two spaces under the same flooring, a continuous, generous, fluid living area was created where there had previously been needless compartmentalisation.
The functional reorganisation was equally precise. The pantry was converted into a laundry room, removing from the kitchen functions that weighed it down and restoring a sense of lightness.
The new guest bathroom was the element that completed the overall logic. By introducing it in the entrance area, a natural separation was created between the social area and the private bedroom zone—a discreet but effective boundary that organises the home without the rigidity of a closed plan.
Without adding any floor area, this renovation reorganised what already existed—enough to completely transform the way the home is lived in.
